Compared to last week slaughter steers were 3.00 to 8.00 higher with slaughter heifers were 2.00 to 7.00 higher with better packer inquiry on higher quality steers and heifers. Holstein slaughter steers were 2.00 to 5.00 lower today. Cows were 1.00 to 4.00 higher with active buyer participation and bulls sharply higher with good buyer participation. Feeder steers were trending higher and feeder heifers with instances of higher/lower with feeder bulls 1.00 lower.
Supply included: 14% Feeder Cattle (20% Steers, 10% Dairy Steers, 48% Heifers, 18% Bulls, 5% Dairy Heifers); 86% Slaughter Cattle (54% Steers, 3% Dairy Steers, 24% Heifers, 15% Cows, 3% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 62%.
