Compared to last week, slaughter steers were1.00 to 3.00 lower with slaughter heifers 1.00 to 2.00 higher with steady packer bids this week. Too few of Holstein steers to compare today. Cows were 1.00 to 2.00 lower but active buyer participation and bulls 5.00 higher. Feeder steers were mostly steady with feeder heifers and bulls trending lower this week.
Supply included: 25% Feeder Cattle (18% Steers, 51% Heifers, 24% Bulls, 7% Dairy Heifers); 75% Slaughter Cattle (45% Steers, 1% Dairy Steers, 27% Heifers, 22% Cows, 6% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 50%.
