Compared to last week steers under 500 lbs sold steady to 6.00 higher on a thin test, 500 to 700 lbs 3.00 to 4.00 lower, over 700 lbs steady to 3.00 higher. Heifers under 700 lbs sold mostly steady, over 700 lbs sold steady to 4.00 higher. Slaughter cows sold 5.00 to 10.00 higher and bulls 3.00 to 5.00 higher. Demand was good for all offerings. Winter snows have been decent at most basins this winter. Many are hopeful continued moisture will come to help sprout forages. Per Wyoming NRCS week Feb 1 snowpack is at 88% with the basin high in Laramie at 107% and basin low in the South Platte at 58%. Last year the state ave was at 76% and in 2020 was at 107%.

Supply included: 89% Feeder Cattle (48% Steers, 52% Heifers); 7% Slaughter Cattle (81% Cows, 19% Bulls); 3% Replacement Cattle (97% Stock Cows, 3% Bred Cows). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 40%.
