Compared to last week; slaughter and feeder cows traded 5.00 to 10.00 higher. Slaughter bulls traded 5.00 higher. Winter storms around the region has caused lots of cancellations throughout sale barns and has caused a shortage of cows for slaughter therefore a spike in the cow market. A shorter run this week but a very active market.
Supply included: 69% Slaughter Cattle (92% Cows, 8% Bulls); 31% Replacement Cattle (100% Stock Cows). AUCTION This Week Last Reported 1/28/2022 Last Year Total Receipts: 543 862 739 Slaughter Cattle: 372(68.5%) 660(76.6%) 559(75.6%) Replacement Cattle: 171(31.5%) 202(23.4%) 180(24.4%)
