Compared to last week: Feeder steers traded mostly 5.00 higher. Steer calves traded firm to 5.00 higher on comparable sales. Not enough comparable sales on heifers for a market trend but a higher undertone was noted. Slaughter cows and bulls traded mostly steady. Trading activity was moderate to active on good buyer demand. Quality was mostly plain to attractive with several smaller bunches of calves and a few load lots of yearlings on offer.
Supply included: 78% Feeder Cattle (62% Steers, 35% Heifers, 0% Bulls, 3% Dairy Heifers); 21% Slaughter Cattle (98% Cows, 2% Bulls); 1% Replacement Cattle (94% Stock Cows, 6% Bred Cows). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 64%.
