Compared to last week: Steer and heifer calves under 600 lbs firm except fancy and thin offerings 2.00 to 4.00 higher. Feeder steers and heifers over 600 lbs on offer were mostly thin, reputation kinds and sold 4.00 to 6.00 higher; a few packages in moderate flesh were steady to 1.00 higher. Slaughter cows and bulls 1.00 to 2.00 lower. Trade fairly active. Demand fairly good. The trade area remains in the grip of severe drought, Receipts on offer tended to be in attractive flesh condition. No sale next week due to the holiday.
Supply included: 78% Feeder Cattle (62% Steers, 38% Heifers); 22% Slaughter Cattle (98% Cows, 3% Bulls). Feeder cattle supply over 600 lbs was 50%.
