Kentucky Weekly Livestock Summary for the week of Oct 17-22, 2016.

  In comparison, steer and heifer calves finished this week about steady with this 
time last week.  However, there was a significant price drop early.  By mid-week 
most markets were trading 1.00 to 3.00 higher. Supply was moderate with a moderate 
to good demand and quality good through attractive.  CME futures were higher most 
days applying positive pressure locally.  Slaughter cows sold mostly steady to 3.00 
higher and bulls steady to 2.00 higher with good demand.

   Supply consisted of 9 percent slaughter, 4 percent replacement, and 87 percent
feeder cattle.  In the feeder supply, steers made up approximately 38 percent and 
heifers approximately 34 percent.  Steers and heifers over 600 lbs totaled 
approximately 40 percent.
