   First sale in three weeks time, therefore no recent price comparison
available.  Feeder steers and heifers sold with lower undertones except
heifers weighing 650-800 lbs sold with higher undertones.  Moderate
demand for this large offering of very attractive, high quality long
strings of steers in heifers in light to moderate plus flesh.  Many
full loads and multiple load lots, including one consignment of 975
heifers.  Cattle have had to endure a very harsh winter, which carried
into spring, resulting in many cattle being in a very attractive flesh
condition.  Many cattle in light enough flesh for summer grazing.  Cattle
feeders were shook pretty hard this week after the futures contracts
melted down leaving them uncertain of the path forward.  The market was
fairly active in spite of all the negativity this week.  Interest in
feeding a heifer, or running her on grass, has increased considerably
since the last auction.  88 percent of feeder cattle over 600 lbs.
40 percent of feeder cattle were steers; 60 percent heifers.
