Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 01/24/2019

   Compared to last week:  Feeder steers steady to 2.00 higher except 550-
600 lbs 1.00 to 2.00 lower.  Feeder heifers steady to 1.00 higher with instances
to 3.00 higher.  Moderate to good demand for this attractive offering of 
steers and heifers.  Flesh condition light to moderate plus, few clean cattle
as most carrying quite a bit of tag.  The market was active this week, which
is an improvement from last week.  The CME Feeder Cattle contracts posted
large gains yesterday and more today helped to add support to the market at
the auction.  Blizzard warnings last night and early this morning caused
some cancellations.  Cold, seasonal weather, has settled in across the 
region which is keeping the ground frozen.  57 percent were steers; 43 percent 
heifers. 82 percent weighing over 600 lbs.  Expecting 6500 feeder cattle next 
week, starting at 8:30.
