Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 01/10/2019
 
Receipts:  6351    Last Week:  5797    Year Ago:  3590  
 
   Compared to last week:  Feeder steers and heifers 2.00 to 5.00 lower, with 
few instances steady.  Moderate demand for this large offering of steers and 
heifers.  Several large strings of very high quality feeder cattle, many full 
loads and multiple load lots.  Flesh condition light to moderate plus.  Overall 
flesh condition a little heavier than last week.  Above freezing temps created 
poor yard conditions, some consignments were very dirty.  Market not as active 
as last week.  Cattle feeders remain concerned over muddy feedyard conditions 
and how this will affect cattle performance as warm weather continues in the 
forecast.  54 percent were steers; 46 percent heifers. 86 percent weighing over 
600 lbs.  Expecting 7000 feeder cattle next week, starting at 8:00.
