Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 11/01/2018

   Compared to last week:  Steer and heifer calves were 2.00 to 5.00 lower,
 in a narrow comparison. Yearling feeder steers and heifers mostly steady.
Good demand for this nice offering of yearling steers and heifers, many
full loads, flesh condition light to moderate plus.  The market was active
on yearlings as the cash fed cattle market jumped 5.00 last week and there
were many buyers anxious to get yearlings bought to fill their empty pens.
Moderate demand for this lighter offering of calves.  There were fewer calf
buyers on the seats this week as farmer feeders work to get their fall harvest
work complete.  Calf quality was uneven, there were some longer strings of
preconditioned calves that displayed plenty of eye appeal, yet there were
many small consignments of plainer calves that were tougher to sell.  56
percent were steers; 44 percent heifers.  83 percent weighing over 600 lbs.
Next week expecting 3,000 feeder cattle starting at 9:00 am.
