Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 08/30/2018

   Compared to two weeks ago:  Feeder steers steady to 3.00 higher, heifers
under 850 lbs steady to 3.00 higher, 850-950 lbs 3.00 to 4.00 lower, over
1000 lbs 5.00 to 6.00 higher.  Good to very good demand for this nice
offering of yearling steers and heifers.  There were many long strings
and full loads of steers and heifers, with several sets of light fleshed
cattle with the rest ranging from moderate to heavy at times.  There were plenty
of buyers actively bidding on all kinds and conditions.  Cash fed cattle market
was lower in early trading but with so few feeder cattle being offered across
the trade area recently buyers were ready to get cattle bought and wiling to
chase the market higher, which made for an active market.  46 percent were 
steers; 54 percent heifers.  Near 100 percent weighing over 600 lbs.  Next week
expecting 1,500 feeder cattle.
