Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 06/22/2017
 
Receipts:  3333    Last Week:  2360    Year Ago:  1392
 
   Compared to last week:  Limited comparable offerings as there
were light receipts last week.  Steers best comparison was those
weighing over 1000 lbs selling unevenly steady.  Heifers 900-950 lbs
mostly 2.00 lower, other weights not well compared.  Demand was moderate
to good despite CME Cattle contracts closing lower.  Several long strings
of backgrounded yearlings offered today, with most selling in load lots
allowing buyers the opportunity to fill yards with similar cattle.  Flesh
conditon was mostly moderate with some cattle carrying more moderate plus
flesh.  Feeder cattle were 72 percent steers, 28 percent heifers; 99 percent
weighing over 600 lbs.  Next feeder cattle sale will be held in two weeks
on July 6th, with 3,000 head expected.  Have a Safe 4th of July!!
