Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 06/01/2017
 
Receipts:  1371    Last Week:  2654    Year Ago:  2607
 
   Compared to last week:  Feeder steers and heifers were mostly
steady to firm in narrow comparisons.  Light offerings today, as
is typical of this time of the year.  Demand good, as limit and
near limit gains were seen in the CME Feeder Cattle and Live Cattle
contracts today.  Buyer attendence was moderate considering the
limited offerings.   Couple long strings of backgrounded steers
and heifers allowed buyers to get multiple loads purchased of similar
type cattle, with the balance of the cattle selling in small packages
and part loads.  Flesh condition was moderate to moderate plus.  Feeder
cattle receipts were 40 percent steers, 60 percent heifers; 98 percent
weighing over 600 lbs.  Sale next Thursday June 8th is the Summer Customer
Appreciation BBQ Special with over 7,000 head expected and starting at 8am.
