Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 02/23/2017
 
Receipts:  5509    Last Week:  4963    Year Ago:  6487
 
   Compared to last week:  Feeder steers 600-650 lbs steady to 4.00
higher, over 650 lbs mostly steady to 2.00 lower with few instances
seen of 4.00 to 5.00 lower on 650-750 lbs.  Feeder heifers weighing
650-750 lbs 1.00 to 2.00 lower, 750-900 lbs mostly steady.  Demand
more moderate today, as there were less buyers in attendence than
last week.  Large winter storm is working its way east across the
south-central part of the state with predicted snow fall amounts
varying.  Many long strings, loads and packages offered today. 
Flesh condition was generally moderate to moderate plus, with few
consignments in light flesh condition.  Feeder cattle were 68 percent
steers, 32 percent heifers; 89 percent weighing over 600 lbs.  Sale
next Thursday March 2nd with 6,500 head expected.
