Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 01/12/2017

   Compared to last week:  Feeder steers under 600 lbs were narrowly
compared, 600-650 lbs steady to 2.00 higher, 650-750 lbs steady to 
1.00 lower, 750-900 lbs 1.00 to 4.00 lower, 900-1000 lbs steady with
instances 1.00 higher.  Heifers under 800 lbs sold mostly steady to 
3.00 higher with instances up to 5.00 higher on 550-600 lbs.  Demand
good to very good, with many active bidders.  Flesh condition varied
from light to moderate plus, with majority of cattle carrying moderate
flesh.  Bulk of the cattle were either backgrounded yearlings or long
time weaned calves, with calves selling off the cow denoted as such.
Feeder cattle were 70 percent steers, 30 percent heifers; 86 percent
weighing over 600 lbs.  Sale next Thursday January 19th starting at
8:30 am with 6,000 head expected.
