Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 12/15/2016

   Compared to last week:  Steer calves under 700 lbs sold
mostly steady to 2.00 lower, 700-800 lbs steady to firm.
Yearling steers steady to 5.00 higher.   Heifer calves 
steady to 2.00 higher.  Yearling heifers best comparison
was those weighing 850-900 lbs 1.00 to 2.00 higher.  Good
demand on an active market.  Majority of the calves were
fully preconditioned and long time weaned, however there
were a few consignments of calves off the cow.  The recent
cold weather has helped to green up the cattle and most were
carrying light to moderate flesh condition.  Many high quality
calves and yearlings offered today in long strings and smaller
packages allowing buyers to fill their orders.  Feeder cattle
supply was 51 percent steers, 49 percent heifers; 83 percent
weighing over 600 lbs.  Next sale will be held in two weeks on
Thursday December 29th with 4,000 head expected.  Happy Holidays!!
