Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 08/11/2016
 
Receipts:  5201    Two Weeks Ago:  3928    Year Ago:  No Sale

   Compared to two weeks ago:  Feeder steers under 850 lbs
not well compared, 850-900 lbs 5.00 to 7.00 higher, over
900 lbs 2.00 to 5.00 higher.  Heifers 800-850 lbs 5.00 to
6.00 higher, 850-950 lbs 3.00 to 5.00 higher, other weights
not well compared.  Mostly good demand for today's offering
of yearlings both backgrounded and off grass, best demand
noted for yearlings in light flesh.  Quality was attractive
throughout the sale.  Flesh conditon varied during the sale 
from light grass flesh to backgrounded yearlings in moderate 
plus flesh.  Large offerings today attracted a large crowd 
and allowed buyers the opportunity to get several loads of 
uniform cattle to fill yards.  Large offering of light weight
Holstein steers sold with good demand.  Feeder cattle offering
was 64 percent steers, 36 percent heifers; 85 percent weighing
over 600 lbs.  Next sale will be held in two weeks on August 25th,
expecting 4,000 head of feeder cattle.
