Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 06/02/2016

   Compared to last week:  In a narrow comparison feeder steers and 
heifers 4.00 to 7.00 higher.  Good demand for all weights of cattle,
whether it was calves or big backgrounded yearling steers and heifers.
Flesh condition ran the whole spectrum from extremely light fleshed to
moderate-plus, even a few in heavy flesh, the market was very active.
Majority of the offering was big yearling steers and heifers weighing
over 900 lbs.  Gains in the futures market this week helped to spur the
feeder cattle market along, even though the spot month remains well below
the cash fed cattle market.  The rapid jump in the fed market from 196.00 to
205.00 at the end of the week, last week, helped to lend support to cattle
feeders? optimism.  92 percent over 600 lbs.  57 percent steers; 43 percent
heifers.  Next week will be a BBQ special feeder cattle sale expecting 8,000
feeders starting at 8:00 am.
