Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 01/21/2016

   Compared to last week:  Feeder steers steady to 3.00 lower, heifers steady
to 1.00 lower.  Good demand for all weights of steers and heifers.  Plenty
of high quality, attractive, steers and heifers offered.  Flesh condition
ranged from light to moderate plus overall, some consignments were carrying
heavy flesh.  Cattle were pretty clean, those that were carrying a heavy
amount of tag sold on the bottom end of the price ranges.  Cattle futures
were showing gains of around 3.00 throughout much of the trading session
and outside markets posted good gains today after large losses earlier
in the week.  This turn around in the futures and stock markets helped to
instill some confidence to buyers and an active market was the result.  Next
week expecting 5,000 feeder cattle.  92 percent over 600 lbs.  68 percent
steers; 32 percent heifers.
