Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 04/30/2015

  Compared to last year:  Feeder steers 600-750 lbs and 850-900 lbs 
mostly steady, 800-850 lbs 3.00 to 4.00 higher, 900-950 lbs unevenly 
steady, 950-1050 lbs 4.00 to 6.00 lower, 1050-1100 lbs 2.00 to 3.00 
lower; other weights few comparable sales.  Feeder heifers 650-700 
and 750-800 lbs steady, 700-750 lbs steady to 2.00 higher, 800-850 lbs 
steady to 3.00 lower.  Good to very good demand for all classes of 
cattle today.  Flesh condition was moderate to moderate plus with heavy 
flesh seen at times.  Active market for today's offering of average to 
attractive quality cattle.  Several long strings of cattle offered with 
many load lots selling today along with smaller packages as well.  Feeder 
cattle were 60 percent steers, 34 percent heifers, 5 percent Holsteins, 
balance bulls; 95 percent weighing over 600 lbs.  Sale next Thursday May 7th,
expecting 3,500 head of feeders.
