Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 12/11/2014

   Compared to last week:  Steer calves 550-600 lbs and 650-700 lbs 
sharply lower in narrow comparisons, 600-650 lbs steady to 3.00 
lower, 700-800 lbs 7.00 to 10.00 lower.  Yearling steers 800-850 
lbs 3.00 to 5.00 lower, 850-950 lbs 10.00 to 12.00 lower, 950-1000 
lbs 5.00 lower in a narrow comparison, over 1000 lbs were too lightly
tested last week to compare.  Heifer calves under 650 lbs steady to 
4.00 lower, 650-700 lbs 4.00 to 8.00 lower, 700-750 lbs 5.00 to 10.00
lower.  Yearling heifers 700-750 lbs steady to weak, 750-800 lbs 
4.00 to 7.00 lower, 800-950 lbs 2.00 to 5.00 lower.  Good to very 
good demand for yearlings, with best demand for load lots of light to
moderate flesh steers.  Demand good to very good for calves with 
moderate fleshed long time weaned calves having the best demand.  
Many long strings of backgrounded yearling cattle in light to 
moderate plus flesh condition.  Large offering of calves, with most 
weaned 45 plus days in moderate flesh.  Active market with very 
good attendence.  The seats were filled with consigners and buyers 
alike for this Customer Appreciation Sale.  Feeder Cattle were 62 
percent steers, 34 percent heifers, balance Holsteins; 93 percent 
weighing over 600 lbs.  Sale next Thursday December 18th, expecting 
4,000-5,000 head of feeder cattle.
