Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 04/24/2014

   Compared to last week:  Feeder steers under 750 lbs had no comparable
sales, over 750 lbs steady to 3.00 higher.  Feeder heifers under 750 
lbs had no comparable sales, over 750 lbs steady to 3.00 higher.  
Demand was moderate to good with best demand for cattle in load lots 
and replacement quality heifers.  Several longs strings of attractive 
cattle suitable for both backgrounding and finishing lots offered in 
multiple load lots.  Flesh was moderate to moderate plus with cattle 
weighing over 900 lbs seen in heavy flesh at times.  The feeder cattle 
were comprised of 66 percent steers, 23 percent heifers, 10 percent 
Holsteins, balance bulls.  92 percent of the feeder cattle offered today 
weighed over 600 lbs.  Sale next Thursday May 1st, expecting 3000 head.
