   Compared to last week: Feeder steers 2.00 to 6.00 higher, except 500-
550 lbs 8.00 to 10.00 higher.  Feeder heifers under 650 lbs 5.00 to 10.00
higher, over 650 lbs 2.00 to 5.00 higher.  Good to very good demand this
week for all weights of steers and heifers, the biggest improvement in 
demand was for heavier cattle suitable only for finishing, those over 750
lbs.  Quality was very attractive, many long strings and full loads of 
backgrounded steers and heifers along with small packages of light cattle.
Buyers were eager bidders throughout the sale, in spite of triple digit losses
on CME Live and Feeder Cattle contracts.  Cattle feeders shrugged this off as
packers were bidding steady to higher money on fed cattle in the country today
and CBOT corn lost 9 cents.  Flesh condition ranged from mostly moderate to 
heavy at times, a few consignments of light fleshed cattle but most were 
carrying a moderate amount.  Steers made up 59 percent of the run, heifers 41
percent.  89 percent of the run was over 600 lbs
