Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 01/23/2014

   Compared to last week: Feeder steers steady to 3.00 higher, except 750-
800 lbs steady to 2.00 lower.  Feeder heifers 500-600 lbs 5.00 to 10.00
higher, over 600 lbs steady to 3.00 higher.  Good to very good demand this
week as cash fed cattle set new highs at 150.00 live and 241.00 dressed.
Fewer consignments of light fleshed cattle this week, most cattle were carrying
a moderate to heavy flesh condition at times, some consignments were carrying
tag due to the up and down weather conditions that are causing cattle to get
dirty.  Consignments consisted of longtime weaned, fully preconditioned calves
and backgrounded cattle, many load lots offered this week.  Steers made up 58
percent of the run, heifers 42 percent.  82 percent of the run was over 600 lbs
