Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 05/23/2013

Receipts:   3617    Last Week:   4178    Last Year:   3371

   Compared to last weeK:   Feeder steers 600-700 lbs steady to
1.00 lower, 700-900 lbs mostly 3.00 to 5.00 lower instances steady
on 800-850 lbs, over 900 lbs 1.00 to 4.00 lower.  Feeder heifers
mostly steady to 3.00 lower.  Range of flesh conditions from light
to moderate plus flesh, with majority in moderate flesh condition.
Moderate to good demand for cattle under 700 lbs, with mostly good
demand for cattle weighing over 700 lbs. Cattle flagged as "Value
Added" qualify for Natural Beef programs.  Steers made up 57 percent
of the run, heifers 42 percent with the balance feeder bulls and
Holsteins.  93 percent of the feeder cattle weighed over 600 lbs.
Expecting 1500 head next Thursday May 30th.
