Feeder Cattle Weighted Average Report for 03/21/2013

Receipts:   3844    Last Week:   5756    Last Year:    3486

   Compared to last week:   Feeder steers 600-650 lbs steady to firm,
650-850 lbs steady to 2.00 lower, over 850 lbs steady to 1.00 higher.
Feeder heifers 550-700 lbs steady to 4.00 higher, 700-850 lbs unevenly
steady, over 850 lbs mostly steady on a narrow comparison.  Moderate
to good demand with good buyer activity.  Majority of cattle offered
today were in moderate to moderate plus flesh condition with a few 
packages of cattle in light flesh.  Several long strings of attractive 
yearling steers and heifers offered today.   Cattle that were carrying 
excessive tag tended to be discounted 2.00 to 5.00 compared to cleaner
stock.  The feeder run was comprised of 48 percent steers, 52 percent 
heifers; 86 percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs.  Expecting 3000
head of feeder cattle next Thursday March 28th.
