Weighted Average Auction Report of Siler City, Canton, Turnersburg, Mount Airy, 
Shelby, North Wilkesboro, Norwood, and Smithfield for the Week Ending Thursday, 
November 15, 2018

Cattle Receipts:  4034          Last week:  5595          Last year:  5223

Compared to last week, slaughter cows were mostly steady to 2.00 higher, while 
bulls were mostly steady to 3.00 higher.  Feeder steers were mostly 2.00 to 
5.00 lower; heifers mostly steady to 5.00 lower; and bulls mostly 1.00 to 5.00 
lower.  Demand was light to moderate; market activity and buyer interest were 
moderate.  Offerings of cattle were light to moderate, with several days of 
rain curtailing movement.  Cattle quality was plain to average.

Slaughter cows made up 13 percent of the offering, slaughter bulls 2 percent, 
replacement cows 2 percent, other cows 1 percent, and feeders 81 percent.  The 
feeder supply included 32 percent steers, 41 percent heifers, and 28 percent 
bulls.  Near 22 percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs.
