Weighted Average Auction Report of Mount Airy and North Wilkesboro for the Week
Ending Thursday, September 20, 2018. Siler City reported 19 cattle on Friday,
September 14, that are not included in this report. All other sales were
closed or cancelled due to inclement weather from Hurricane Florence.
Cattle Receipts: 182 Last week: 3201 Last year: 5407
There were too few head to establish an adequate market comparison. Demand,
market activity, and buyer interest were moderate. Offerings were light.
Cattle quality was plain to average.
Slaughter cows made up 30 percent of the offering, slaughter bulls 4 percent,
and feeders 65 percent. The feeder supply included 30 percent steers,
40 percent heifers, and 29 percent bulls. Near 21 percent of the run weighed
over 600 lbs.
