Weighted Average Auction Report of Siler City, Canton, Turnersburg, Shelby, North 
Wilkesboro, Norwood and Smithfield for the Week Ending Thursday Aug 10, 2017

Cattle Receipts:  4366          Last Week:  4426              Last Year:  4154

Compared to last week, slaughter cows were steady to 5.00 lower, bulls mostly steady. 
Feeder steers were steady to 2.00 lower, bulls mostly steady to 2.00 higher, heifers 
steady to 4.00 higher. Demand, buyer activity and offerings were moderate. Quality 
ranged from plain to attractive.

Slaughter cows made up 17 percent of the offering, slaughter bulls 3 percent, 
replacement cows 3 percent, other cows 0 percent, and feeders 76 percent. The feeder 
supply included 33 percent steers, 36 percent heifers, and 30 percent bulls. Near 25 
percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs.
