Weighted Average Auction Report of Siler City, Canton, Turnersburg, Shelby, North 
Wilkesboro, Norwood and Smithfield for the Week Ending Thursday May 25, 2017

Cattle Receipts:  3577          Last Week:  3626                Last Year:  3364

Compared to last week, slaughter cows were mostly steady to 2.00 higher, bulls mostly 
steady. Feeder steers were mostly steady to 4.00 higher, heifers mostly steady to 
2.00 higher and bulls mostly steady to 5.00 lower. Demand, market activity and 
offerings were moderate. Quality ranged from plain to average. 

Slaughter cows made up 18 percent of the offering, slaughter bulls 3 percent, 
replacement cows 3 percent, other cows 1 percent, and feeders 75 percent.  The feeder 
supply included 37 percent steers, 33 percent heifers, and 30 percent bulls. Near 22 
percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs.
