Weighted Average Auction Report of Canton, Siler City, Turnersburg, Shelby, North 
Wilkesboro, Norwood, Smithfield for the Week Ending Thursday Apr 20, 2017

Cattle Receipts:  3923    Last Week:  4814    Last Year:  5853

Compared to last week, slaughter cattle were steady 4.00 higher. Feeder steers 
were mostly 2.00 to 6.50 higher, heifers mostly 1.00 to 6.00 higher and bulls 
mostly steady to 7.00 higher. Demand and market activity were moderate; offerings 
were light to moderate.  Quality ranged plain to attractive. Slaughter cows made 
up 14 percent of the offering, slaughter bulls 3 percent, replacement cows 3 
percent, other cows 1 percent, and feeders 79 percent.  The feeder supply 
included 36 percent steers, 39 percent heifers, and 25 percent bulls. Near 16 
percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs.
