Weekly Weighted Average Auction Report of Siler City, Canton, Turnersburg, North 
Wilkesboro, Norwood, Shelby and Smithfield for the Week Ending Thursday Aug 25, 2016

Cattle Receipts:  3694          Last week:  3734            Last Year:  4091

Compared to last week, slaughter cows were mostly steady and bulls were mostly steady 
to 3.00 higher. Feeder steers were mostly 2.00 to 3.00 lower, heifers and bulls were 
mostly 3.00-4.00 lower. Demand, market activity and offerings were moderate. Quality 
ranged from plain to average. 

Slaughter cows made up 14 percent of the offering, slaughter bulls 3 percent, 
replacement cows 3 percent, other cows 1 percent, and feeders 79 percent. The feeder 
supply included 25 percent steers, 43 percent heifers, and 32 percent bulls. Near 24 
percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs.
