Weighted Average Auction Report of Canton, North Wilkesboro, Norwood, Shelby, Siler 
City, Smithfield, Turnersburg for the Week Ending Thursday Jul 28, 2016

Cattle Receipts:  2434          Last Week:  3925          Last Year:  4140

Compared to last week, feeder cattle were mostly 3.00-6.00 higher. Slaughter cattle 
were mostly steady to 2.00 higher. Offerings were light and quality was plain to 
average. Moderate to light demand, with even lighter demand for cattle with excessive 
hair. Moderate buyer participation. Weather was hot and humid with heat index in the 
100s.

Slaughter cows made up 16 percent of the offering, slaughter bulls 2 percent, 
replacement cows 4 percent, other cows 1 percent, and feeders 77 percent.  The feeder 
supply included 33 percent steers, 37 percent heifers, and 29 percent bulls. Near 21 
percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs.
