Weighted Average Auction Report of Canton, Norwood, Shelby, Siler City, Smithfield, 
Turnersburg for the Week Ending Thursday Jan 21, 2016

Cattle Receipts:  2756          Last Week:  4076          Last Year:  Not Available

Compared to last week, slaughter cattle were mostly steady. Feeder cattle were mixed. 
Demand and market activity were moderate. Offerings were light with average quality 
cattle. 

Slaughter cows made up 19 percent of the offering, slaughter bulls 3 percent, 
replacement cows 2 percent, other cows 1 percent, and feeders 76 percent.  The feeder 
supply included 35 percent steers, 36 percent heifers, and 29 percent bulls. Near 19 
percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs.
