Weighted Average Auction report of Canton, North Wilkesboro, Norwood, Siler City, 
Smithfield, Shelby and Turnersburg for the Week Ending Thursday Oct 29, 2015

Cattle Receipts:  3970          Last week:  3827          Last Year:  5945

Compared to last week, slaughter cattle were mostly steady to 6.00 higher. Feeder 
cattle were mostly steady to 10.00 higher. Demand, buyer activity and offerings were 
moderate. Quality was plain to average. Slaughter cows made up 16 percent of the 
offering, slaughter bulls 3 percent, replacement cows 2 percent, other cows 1 
percent, and feeders 78 percent. The feeder supply included 30 percent steers, 40 
percent heifers, and 30 percent bulls. Near 19 percent of the run weighed over 600 
lbs.
