Weighted Average Auction report of Canton, North Wilkesboro, Norwood, Siler City, 
Smithfield and Turnersburg for the Week Ending Thursday Jun 25, 2015

Cattle Receipts:  3203          Last week:  3365           Last Year:  5407

Compared to last week, slaughter cows were mostly steady to 3.00 higher, bulls mostly 
steady. Feeder cattle were mostly 2.00 to 3.00 lower. Demand was moderate. Lighter 
demand was noted on cattle with excessive hair due to hot and humid temperatures. 
Market activity was moderate. Offerings were lighter due to hot temperatures. Quality 
was average. Slaughter cows made up 17 percent of the offering, slaughter bulls 3 
percent, replacement cows 1 percent, other cows 1 percent, and feeders 78 percent.  
The feeder supply included 37 percent steers, 41 percent heifers, and 23 percent 
bulls. Near 15 percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs.
