Weighted Average Auction report of Canton, Mount Airy, North Wilkesboro, Norwood, 
Siler City, Smithfield and Turnersburg for the Week Ending Thursday Oct 23, 2014

Cattle Receipts:  6233          Last Week:  4372           Last Year:  6094

Compared to last week, slaughter cows were steady to 3.00 lower, bulls 1.00 to 5.00 
lower. Feeder cattle were mostly steady to 4.00 higher. Demand was good and market 
activity was active for moderate offerings. Quality was mostly average. Slaughter 
cows made up 14 percent of the offering, slaughter bulls 2 percent, replacement cows 
1 percent, other cows 1 percent, and feeders 81 percent. The feeder supply included 
38 percent steers, 40 percent heifers, and 23 percent bulls. Near 15 percent of the 
run weighed over 600 lbs.
