Weighted Average Auction Report of Canton, Mount Airy, North Wilkesboro, Norwood, Siler 
City, Smithfield, Turnersburg for the Week Ending Thursday Apr 24, 2014

Cattle Receipts:  5178     Last Week:  5896     Last Year:  4854

Compared to last week, slaughter cows were mostly 1.50 to 7.00 higher; bulls were 2.00 
to 2.50 higher. Feeder steers were mostly steady to 4.00 higher, bulls mostly steady to 
5.00 lower and heifers were mostly 1.00 to 5.00 higher. Demand was moderate to good with 
moderate to active market activity. Quality of cattle was average.

Slaughter cows made up 16 percent of the offering, slaughter bulls 3 percent, 
replacement cows 3 percent, other cows 1 percent, and feeders 78 percent.  The feeder 
supply included 35 percent steers, 41 percent heifers, and 24 percent bulls. Near 13 
percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs.
