City, Smithfield, Turnersburg for the Week Ending Thursday Aug 29, 2013
Cattle Receipts: 4736 Last Week: 4882 Last Year: 4068
When compared to last week, slaughter cows were mostly 1.00 higher, bulls 1.00 lower.
Feeder steers were mostly 1.00 to 5.00 higher, heifers 5.00 to 6.00 lower. Slaughter cows
made up 15 percent of the offering, slaughter bulls 3 percent, replacement cows 1 percent,
other cows 0 percent, and feeders 80 percent. The feeder supply included 31 percent
steers, 40 percent heifers, and 28 percent bulls. Near 22 percent of the run weighed over
600 lbs.
