Weighted Average Auction Report of Canton, Mount Airy, North Wilkesboro,
Norwood, Siler City, Smithfield, Turnersburg for the Week Ending Thursday,
August 01, 2013
Cattle Receipts: 4450 Last Week: 4219 Last Year: 2877
Slaughter cows trended mostly 50 cents to 1.00 lower; bulls were 3.00 to 5.00
lower. Feeder cattle trended mostly 3.00 to 8.00 higher.
Slaughter cows made up 17 percent of the offering, slaughter bulls 2 percent,
replacement cows 2 percent, other cows 1 percent, and feeders 78 percent. The
feeder supply included 29 percent steers, 37 percent heifers, and 34 percent
bulls. Near 25 percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs.
