Alabama Auctions Daily Summary
Alabama livestock auctions that were held Wednesday January 22, 2014.

Cattle Receipts:  3,117    Last Week:  4,116    Last Year: 2,352

Compared to a week ago: Slaughter cows and bulls 2.00 to 3.00 lower.
All feeder classes sold steady to 3.00 higher. Trade moderate with 
good demand on feeders. Slaughter cows made up 9 percent of the 
fferings, bulls 1 percent, replacement cows and pairs 5 percent, 
and feeders 85 percent. Replacement cows and pairs sold mostly 
steady. The feeder supply included 16 percent steers, 42 percent 
heifers, and 42 percent bulls. Near 14 percent of the run weighed 
over 600 lbs.
