Alabama Auctions Daily Summary
Alabama livestock auctions that were held Wednesday July 17, 2013.
 
Cattle Receipts:  2,871   Last week: 2,546   Last Year: 2,861

   Compared to a week ago: Slaughter cows sold steady to 1.00 lower, 
bulls sold steady. Feeder steers and bulls sold steady to 1.00 lower. 
Feeder heifers sold 1.00 to 2.00 higher. Replacement cows and pairs 
sold steady.  Slaughter cows made up 4 percent of the offering, 
slaughter bulls 1 percent, replacement cows and pairs 6 percent, and 
feeders 89 percent. The feeder supply included 21 percent steers, 38 
percent heifers, and 41 percent bulls. Near 26 percent of the run 
weighed over 600 lbs.
