Alabama Auctions Daily Summary
Alabama livestock auctions that were held Thursday May 23, 2013.

Cattle Receipts: 1,259    Last Week: 1,747    Last Year: 1,536

Compared to a week ago: Slaughter cows and bulls sold 1.00 to 
2.00 higher. All feeder classes sold 1.00 to 4.00 lower. Trade 
moderate with moderate demand on feeders. Replacement cows and 
pairs sold steady to firm. Slaughter cows made up 9 percent of 
the offerings, bulls 1 percent, replacement cows and pairs 6 
percent, and feeders 84 percent. The feeder supply included 14 
percent steers, 41 percent heifers, and 45 percent bulls. Near 
25 percent of the run weighed over 600 lbs.
