Sheep and Goat Weighted Average for Monday, July 20, 2015

Sheep/Lamb Receipts: 2341   Last Monday: 2929   Year Ago: 2489

USDA carcass grading, and marketed through mainstream outlets. Non-Traditional 
markets refer to lambs destined for slaughter outside of what would be termed as 
traditional markets. ***

   Slaughter Sheep: When compared to last Monday's sale, High Choice and Prime 2-3 
and Choice 2-3 lambs sold 15.00-20.00 lower.  Good 1-2 lambs sold 20.00-30.00 lower. 
Slaughter ewes sold mostly steady to 10.00 lower. Demand was light with many buyers 
absent or leaving the sale early. Slaughter supply consisted of 90 percent lambs, 8 
percent slaughter ewes, and 2 percent slaughter bucks. All sheep and lambs are destined 
for non-traditional markets. All sheep and lambs are sold by the hundredweight, on actual 
weights. 

   Slaughter Lambs: Wooled & Shorn Choice and Prime 2-3  40-60 lbs hair sheep 225.00-234.00;
50-60 lbs 230.00; 60-80 lbs 180.00-200.00; 60-70 lbs hair sheep 212.00-216.00; 70-90 lbs hair
sheep 180.00-188.00; 80-90 lbs 195.00-210.00; 90-110 lbs 181.00-195.00. Wooled & Shorn Choice 
2-3  40-50 lbs 187.00-200.00, hair sheep 216.00-219.00; 50-60 lbs 194.00-217.00, hair sheep 
192.00-210.00; 60-70 lbs 178.00-198.00, hair sheep 195.00-210.00; 70-90 lbs 176.00-182.00; 
70-80 lbs hair sheep 180.00-202.00; 80-90 lbs hair sheep 174.00-185.00; 90-110 lbs 167.00-

Slaughter Ewes:  Good 2-3  90-110 lbs 106.00, hair sheep 92.00-112.00; 120-160 lbs 92.00-118.00;
160-200 lbs 107.00. Utility 1-3  120-160 80.00-94.00, hair sheep 80.00-90.00; 160-200 lbs 82.00
-88.00. 

Slaughter Bucks:  50-100 lbs hair sheep 132.00; 160-300 lbs 107.00-112.00. 
   

   Slaughter Goats: Compared to last week, Slaughter kids sold mostly 10.00-30.00
lower. Demand was moderate on poorer quality offerings. Nannies traded mostly 
10.00-20.00 lower on moderate demand. Supply consisted of 54 percent Slaughter Kids, 
27 percent Slaughter Nannies, and 19 percent bucks/billies and wethers. All goats are 
sold by the head on estimated weights. 

   Slaughter Kids: Selection 1  50-60 lbs 170.00-177.00; 60-80 lbs 185.00-210.00,
wethers 225.00-237.00; 80-100 lbs 210.00-230.00, wethers 250.00-255.00. Selection 
2  40-50 lbs 122.00-145.00; 50-60 lbs 130.00-160.00; 60-80 lbs 160.00-202.00, wethers
210.00-217.00. Selection 3  40-50 lbs 57.00-105.00; 50-60 lbs 82.00-125.00; 60-80 lbs
125.00-160.00, wethers 180.00.  

    Slaughter Nannies/Does: Selection 1  80-130 lbs 180.00-212.00; 130-180 lbs 215.00-
