Sheep and Goat Weighted Average for Monday, March 16, 2015

Sheep/Lamb Receipts: 2052   Last Monday: 1687   Year Ago: 1939  
Goat Receipts:       1336   Last Monday: 1398   Year Ago: 1881

subjected to USDA carcass grading, and marketed through mainstream
outlets. Non-Traditional markets refer to lambs destined for slaughter
outside of what would be termed as traditional markets. ***
   
   Compared to last week, Slaughter lambs sold mostly 10.00-20.00 higher.
Slaughter ewes sold mostly 20.00-30.00 higher. Slaughter bucks sold mostly
50.00-60.00 higher. Demand was very good. Slaughter supply consisted of
80 percent lambs, 14 percent slaughter ewes, and 4 percent slaughter bucks.
All sheep and lambs are destined for non-traditional markets. All sheep and
lambs are sold by the hundredweight, on actual weights.

   Slaughter Bucks: 100-120 lbs hair sheep 150.00-195.00; 110-120 lbs 160.00-
177.00; 120-160 lbs 95.00-150.00, hair sheep 130.00-147.00; 160-200 lbs hair
sheep 115.00-122.00; 200-300 lbs 86.00-127.00.
  
   Slaughter Goats: Compared to last week Slaughter kids sold 40.00-50.00
higher. Slaughter nannies sold mostly 10.00-20.00 higher. Demand was very 
good. Slaughter supply consisted of 54 percent Slaughter Kids, 38 percent
Slaughter Nannies, and 8 percent bucks/billies and whethers. All goats are
sold by the head on estimated weights.

Slaughter Kids: Selection 1  20-40 lbs 102.00-165.00; 40-60 lbs 180.00-
240.00; 60-80 lbs 200.00-265.00. Selection 2 20-40 lbs 65.00-137.00; 40-60 lbs
120.00-160.00; 60-80 lbs 185.00-230.00. Selection 3 20-40 lbs 70.00-90.00;
40-60 lbs 100.00-125.00; 60-80 lbs 110.00-145.00.
