Sheep and Goat Weighted Average for Monday, October 13, 2014

Sheep/Lamb Receipts: 2609   Last Monday:  978   Year Ago: NA

***Report format change: Traditional markets refer to lambs
that are subjected to USDA carcass grading, and marketed
through mainstream outlets. Non-Traditional markets refer to
lambs destined for slaughter outside of what would be termed
as traditional markets. ***

   Due to holiday schedule not enough Slaughter Sheep reported 
for a comparison. Slaughter supply consisted of 80 percent lambs,
12 percent slaughter ewes, and 8 percent slaughter bucks. All
sheep and lambs are destined for non-traditional markets. All
sheep and lambs are sold by the hundred weight, on actual weights.

   Slaughter Lambs: Non-Traditional Markets: Wooled & Shorn Choice
and Prime 2-3  50-60 lbs 194.00; 50-80 lbs hair sheep 196.00-215.00;
70-90 lbs 192.00-210.00; 80-110 lbs hair sheep 180.00-210.00; 90-110
lbs 184.00-192.00; 130-140 lbs 185.00. Wooled and Shorn Choice and
Prime 3-4 50-60 lbs hair sheep 230.00. Wooled and Shorn Good and
Choice 1-3 50-60 lbs hair sheep 160.00-168.00; 60-80 lbs hair sheep
170.00-192.00; 80-100 lbs hair sheep 170.00-178.00. 

   Slaughter Ewes: Good 2-3 Medium Flesh 110-120 lbs hair sheep
82.00-102.00; 150-160 lbs 78.00-82.00.   

   Slaughter Bucks: 240 lbs 82.00.
                       
   Slaughter Goats: When compared to last week, not enough
Slaughter Kids sold last week for a comparison. A firm
undertone was noted. Demand moderate. Not enough Slaughter
Nannies sold last week for a comparison bt a weak undertone
noted. Demand was light. Reported slaughter  supply
consisted of 50 percent Slaughter Kids, 42 percent Slaughter
Nannies, and 8 percent bucks/billies and whethers. All goats
are sold by the head on estimated weights.
         
    Slaughter Kids: Selection 1  40-60 lbs 137.00-170.00; 60-80 lbs
160.00-222.00; 80-90 lbs 170.00-212.00. Selection 2 40-60 lbs 102.00-
140.00; 60-80 lbs 125.00-155.00; 80-110 lbs 135.00-172.00. Selection 3
40-60 lbs 70.00-110.00; 60-80 lbs 100.00-117.00.

    Slaughter Nannies/Does: Selection 1 90-130 lbs 160.00-202.00; 130-
160 lbs 165.00-225.00. Selection 2 70-130 lbs 120.00-160.00; 130-150
lbs 155.00-170.00. Selection 3 70-80 lbs 100.00-130.00; 80-130 lbs
