Sheep and Goat Weighted Average for Monday, September 22, 2014

Sheep/Lamb Receipts: 3400   Last Monday: 3224   Year Ago: 2474

subjected to USDA carcass grading, and marketed through mainstream outlets. 
Non-Traditional markets refer to lambs destined for slaughter outside of
what would be termed as traditional markets. ***

   Compared to last week, Slaughter Lambs sold mostly 20.00-40.00
higher. Slaughter Ewes sold mostly weak. Slaughter supply consisted of
69 percent lambs, 22 percent slaughter ewes, and 9 percent slaughter
bucks. All sheep and lambs are destined for non-traditional markets.
All sheep and lambs are sold by the hundred weight, on actual weights.

   Slaughter Bucks: 110-150 lbs hair sheep 130.00-192.00; 140-160 lbs

   Slaughter Goats: When compared to last week, slaughter kids sold
mostly steady to 10.00 higher. Demand was moderate. Overall quality
better than previous week. Nannies traded mostly steady. Demand was
good. Reported slaughter supply consisted of 37 percent Slaughter
Kids, 37 percent Slaughter Nannies, and 26 percent bucks/billies
and whethers. All goats are sold by the head on estimated weights.

160.00-200.00; 80-100 lbs 175.00-220.00; 110-120 lbs 192.00-195.00.
