Sheep and Goat Weighted Average for Monday, December 16, 2013

Sheep/Lamb Receipts: 3176   Last Monday: 2713   Year Ago: 3491

are subjected to USDA carcass grading, and marketed through
mainstream outlets. Non-Traditional markets refer to lambs
destined for slaughter outside of what would be termed as
traditional markets. ***

   Sheep and Lambs: Compared to last week, Slaughter lambs
sold 20.00-30.00 higher on very good demand. Slaughter ewes
sold mostly 10.00-20.00 higher compared to last week on good
demand. Slaughter supply consisted of 78 percent lambs,
13 percent slaughter ewes, and 9 percent miscellaneous stock.
All sheep and lambs are destined for non-traditional markets.
All sheep and lambs are sold by the hundred weight,on actual
weights.

   Slaughter Bucks: 100-120 lbs hair sheep 112.00-120.00; 140-
150 lbs 92.00-146.00, hair sheep 88.00-107.00; 160-200 lbs
80.00-94.00, hair sheep 80.00-102.00; 210-250 lbs 62.00-92.00. 
                       
   Slaughter Goats: When compared to last week, slaughter kid
goats sold mostly 30.00-40.00 higher compared to a light test
last week. Slaughter Nanny goats sold mostly 20.00-30.00
higher compared to a light test last week. Slaughter billies
sold mostly 60.00-80.00 higher compared to a very light test
last week. Demand was very good for all classes. Slaughter
supply consisted of 72 percent Slaughter Kids, 17 percent
Slaughter Nannies, and 11 percent bucks/billies and whethers.
All Goats are sold by the head on estimated weights.
          
    Slaughter Kids: Selection 1  40-60 lbs 150.00-174.00; 60-80
lbs 175.00-230.00; 80-100 lbs 192.00-235.00. Selection 2 40-60
lbs 128.00-150.00; 60-80 lbs 137.00-175.00; 80-100 lbs 162.00-
165.00. Selection 3 40-60 lbs 102.00-130.00; 60-80 lbs 122.00-
140.00; 80-100 lbs 130.00-140.00.

    Slaughter Nannies/Does: Selection 1 80-130 lbs 150.00-
190.00; 130-145 lbs 180.00-215.00. Selection 2 75-80 lbs 150.00-
152.00; 80-120 lbs 130.00-168.00. Selection 3 70-80 lbs 132.00-
