Sheep and Goat Weighted Average for Monday, December 17, 2012

Sheep/Lamb Receipts: 3891     Last week: 2348    Year Ago: 2720

subjected to USDA carcass grading, and marketed through mainstream outlets. 
Non-Traditional markets refer to lambs destined for slaughter outside of what 
would be termed as traditional markets. ***

Sheep and Lambs: When compared to last Monday, slaughter lambs sold mostly 
10.00-20.00 lower on moderate demand. Slaughter ewes traded mostly 5.00-
10.00 lower on moderate demand. Slaughter supply consisted of 83 percent
lambs, 13 percent slaughter ewes, and 4 percent miscellaneous stock. All
sheep and lambs are destined for non-traditional markets. All sheep and
lambs are sold by the hundred weight, on actual weights.

    Slaughter Lambs: Non-Traditional Markets: Wooled & Shorn Choice and Prime 
2-3 50-60 lbs 157.00-170.00; 60-70 lbs 146.00-166.00; 75 lbs 136.00. Wooled
and Shorn Good and Choice 1-3 50-60 lbs 144.00-156.00; 60-70 lbs 130.00-
144.00; 70-80 lbs 120.00-134.00; 80-90 lbs 114.00-128.00; 90-110 lbs 112.00-
118.00. Wooled and Shorn Utility and Good 1-2 60-70 lbs 118.00-120.00; 70-80
lbs 98.00-115.00; 80-100 lbs 100.00-112.00; 100-110 lbs 90.00-110.00; 110-130
lbs 88.00-102.00; 130-150 lbs 92.00-94.00.

    Slaughter Ewes: Good 2-3 Medium Flesh 90-110 lbs 80.00-94.00; 110-160
lbs 70.00-84.00. Utility 1-2 Thin Flesh 90-110 lbs 54.00-60.00; 110-120 lbs
56.00-70.00; 120-160 lbs 40.00-66.00; 190-240 lbs 40.00-60.00. 

   Slaughter Bucks: 90-110 lbs 96.00-100.00; 110-155 lbs 100.00-107.00;
160-195 lbs 74.00-92.00; 200-250 lbs 60.00-76.00. 
                       
Slaughter Goats: Compared to last week`s sale, slaughter kids sold mostly
10.00-20.00 higher. Nannies sold 10.00-20.00 higher. Demand was good for
goats overall. Slaughter supply consisted of 61 percent Slaughter Kids,
21 percent Slaughter Nannies, and 15 percent miscellaneous stock. All
Goats are sold by the head on estimated weights.
          
    Slaughter Kids: Selection 1  40-60 lbs 100.00-128.00; 60-80 lbs 120.00-
136.00; 80-110 lbs 120.00-150.00. Selection 2  40-60 lbs 80.00-98.00; 60-80
lbs 90.00-122.00; 80-110 lbs 116.00-132.00. Selection 3 45 lbs 70.00-72.00;
60-80 lbs 62.00-88.00; 100 lbs 108.00-110.00. 

    Slaughter Nannies/Does: Selection 1  100-125 lbs 144.00-157.00; 130-160
lbs 138.00-170.00. Selection 2 85-125 lbs 112.00-140.00; 130-135 lbs
136.00-144.00. Selection 3 80-120 lbs 88.00-110.00. 

    Slaughter Bucks/Billies: Selection 1  140-145 lbs 190.00-244.00; 150-
190 lbs 200.00-300.00. Selection 2 120-145 lbs 134.00-190.00; 160-180 lbs
